FOSS4G North America 2015 will be held at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport in Burlingame, California. Conference dates are March 9 - 12, 2015. Burlingame is lovely small city, very close to the San Francisco airport, and a short rail or taxi ride to San Francisco or Silicon Valley.
We are excited to be co-locating with EclipseCon North America this year. Each of these conferences are distinct, but all sessions from each are open to attendees of both conferences. The EclipseCon and FOSS4G communities will mingle for keynotes, lunch, receptions, and other social events, and both EclipseCon and FOSS4G sponsors will be in the same exhibit area so they can network with both communities. The EcilpseCon and FOSS4G communities share many interests, goals, values, and even people; please read more about EclipseCon NA here.
This year's FOSS4G NA conference is a collaborative effort involving OSGeo and LocationTech. The conference provides opportunities for the FOSS4G community to learn, explore, share, and collaborate on the latest ideas and information.
FOSS4G is all about community. Contributors, adopters, users, extenders, teachers, service providers, consumers and business and research organizations gather to share their expertise and learn from each other. FOSS4G delivers camaraderie and networking opportunities that lead to synergies in the community, as well as opportunities to give and receive help on specific technical issues or to generate business opportunities.
Unlike many other conferences, the sessions and keynotes at FOSS4G North America are chosen by an independent program committee, allowing us to consistently offer a high-quality program. To contact the program committee, send us email.
The themes for talks at FOSS4G change a little every year to include the most interesting current topics. The themes for 2015 are listed on the CFP page.
Sponsors of FOSS4G North America have a unique opportunity to be an integral part of the entire event. The 2015 conference program will include both hands-on workshops and technical sessions on current topics pertinent to the FOSS4G community, such as web mapping, spatial databases, geoprocessing, and more.
