Making your own terrain maps

Thu, 2015-02-19 20:03

Run by: Seth Fitzsimmons & Alan McConchie, Stamen Design

Anyone who’s tried to stitch together multiple terrain data sets knows that it can be tricky business. To address this challenge, Stamen is working on a grant from the Knight Foundation to create a comprehensive open source terrain map of the world. Join us to talk about open terrain data (and open source pipelines), what you’d want to do with it, and the kind of minimal documentation you’d ideally need to deploy it. Your feedback will help us create a system that allows for people to easily contribute and use open source terrain data.
